Carlee Peterson, a 19-year-old Tennessee-born and raised girl, moved to Flagstaff in 2020. At that moment she decided to join the Flagstaff Figure Skating Club to start practicing a sport that caught her attention immediately. Due to COVID and an injury (caused by practicing figure skating moves), she had to stop that practice. After things settled down, she started to practice again, and this time, with the idea of participating in local events. When the time arrived and she needed a performance dress to participate, she bumped into an unexpected challenge: there were no performance dresses in her size. She didn’t want this to stop her from participating. Her solution: start making her performance dresses.
